FAQ: MY DVD PLAYER LOADS THE DISC BUT DOES NOT READ IT and THE DISPLAY GIVES THE MESSAGE 'NO DISC'

If the disc is not being read, one of the following problems may be the reason:

  • is the disc clean? Or are there scratches or fingerprints on the read side?
  • is the disc loaded correctly with the title label facing upwards?
  • is the disc 'Region 2' type?is the disc type supported by your DVD player? E.g. DVD-R, CD-RW, MP-3... (Check the User Manual to make sure).

If these controls do not solve the problem it may be caused by a fault in the laser or other component in the player. Now before contacting your local dealer carry out the following controls.

  • Try using another type of disc in the DVD player to see whether the problem is limited to that specific type of disc or all discs.
  • Clean the disc with neutral soap and water.
  • Unplug the DVD player from the mains and reconnect it after 2 minutes.
  • Try loading the disc.
  • If the disc is still not being read then contact your local dealer.
